General Notes: Will & Testament: In the name of God, Amen, I, Willm Armitage of Stanley, in the County of York, Yeoman, being somewhat weak and ill in body but of sound and disposing mind ( Praised be God ) do make and ordain this my Last will and testament in manner and form following.--I bequeath my soal to God and my body to the earth to be decently interred in Cristian burial. I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Elizabeth, noe wife of George Wrightson, twenty shillings in full satisfaction of her child's get and portion, and I give and bequeath unto my second daughter Ann, now wife of George Dixon, twenty shillings in full satisfaction of her child's get and portion. I give to her two sonnes, George Dixon and Joseph Dixon, each of them twenty pounds apiece, and to her daughter, Grace Dixon, ten pounds to be paid to each of them as they shall attain their respective ages of one and twenty years, and if any of them die before the said age, his, hers, or their portion or legacy to go to the survivor or survivors equally to be divided amongst them, and if they all chance to die the full legacies to be payable to their Mother if living, if dead to such child or children of her body, lawfully begotten, that shall be surviving, equally to be divided amongst them. I give and bequeath untp my daughter, Grace, now wife of Christopher Smith, four pounds per annum yearly, and every year after my demise during the term of her natuaral life, and for default of payment of the said four punds as above to enter into to Closes of mine called High Lands and Calf (?) Close situant in the township of East Anglsea and now in occupation by John Johnson and the same to retain and enjoy till the said four pounds per annum and all arears thereof be fully paid her, and this annually toi be paid in full satisfaction of her Child's get and portion. I give and bequeath unto my youngest son, John Armitage, fifteen pounds per annum yearly and every year after my demise for and during his natural life, and for default of payment of the annuity of fifteen pounds per annum to enter into Fleming House in Wakefield with the appertances Bunnell Close in the township of Suffolk and one close called_____ _______ing in the township of east Anglsea, and the said houses and closes and their appertanences to have and enjoy till the said fifteen pounds per annum and all arrears thereof shall be fully paid him and this annuity to be in full satisfaction of his Childs get and portion out of my estate, provided that if my said son John shall give or sell or both the said annuity for the term of his life or any other term of time what so ever to any person or persons without the consent of his brother, Joseph Armitage, my oldest son, now living, that the said annuity of fifteen pounds per annum and the land ----- laid in as above for payment of the same shall be void immediately, and the said payment of fifteen shall surely cease forever, and five shillings only shall be paid him in full of his Child's get and portion out of my estate. All the rest of my estate both real and final ( my wife's rights excepted), I give and bequeath unto my saif son Joseph Armitage, to pay all my debts and legacies as above and I make and ordaon him sole executor of this my Last will and testament, hereby revokong all other wills, legacies or bequeaths by me fomerly made, given or deemed to be made or given.
