Major Edward Arthur Forbes of Sunnyside Begelly was found dead from gunshot wounds in his study on Tuesday evening. He was 65 years old until recently agent for Lord Merthyr and controlled the Hean Castle Est, a position he held for 15 yrs. Churchwarden at Begelly, on retiring from the Royal Navy he was recruited into the Territorial Force and commanded No 2 Cpy of the Pembroke R.G.A. and was mobilised with the Company in August 1914, he then joined 114th Seige Battery of the R.G.A. and went to France with his unit as Captain and was wounded, returning to England was promoted Major and stationed at Beckshill Cadet School. One daughter (of 2) Joan Mary is the wife of Captain Jack Vickerman, they mrd in 1927. Edward Arthur Forbes was born 22 Sept 1870 in Steeple Claydon Buckinghamshire the son of Rev Edward Forbes and Juliana Anne nee' Latter.

Long Illness Is Fatal to Pioneer Warren Countian Thursday - Edwin Armitage, age 84, died at his home at Stubbtown Thursday morning following a lengthy illness.
A native of Oregonia, he was a life-long resident of Warren County and was a retired carpenter.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Oswald Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. William Fox of Springboro. Burial was in Turtlecreek cemetery.
Surviving are two sons, Zain of Lebanon, and Verne of Dayton.

"I said Pearl Armitage's middle name was Eloise. Suddenly I am not sure. The reasoning for it goes back to what my mother once said. Mother's middle name was Emma and she didn't like that name. She indicated that when her parents said Pearl's name to family they must have written Pearl E. I gather the family came back and must have said "how nice, Eloise." So Pearl got what mother said was Eloise (probably should have said Eloisa which was their grandmother Armitage's name). NOW HOWEVER, WHEN I got out Pearl's old hard copy scrapbook, in the front was written "Pearl Eleanor Armitage, Feb. 12, 1894, Peru, Indiana" The handwriting was not Aunt Pearl's. The hard copy book was an old insurance book - could have been my grandfather's but I think more likely it was John Jamieson's which Pearl used as a scrapbook after they were married perhaps.
