In May 1881 he arrived in New York with his Wife
Probate was granted on 1 Apr 1887 with a personal estate of £701 2s 2d in England, left to his Wife, and sole Executrix, Georgiana.
A further e-Mail from John Edwards in July 2011 says:
I can find no record of his birth registration; the only references are to his age in various census documents
I have no confirmed source for his marriage date but would guess it was in Massachusetts where Georgiana lived.
There are a whole series of trips to the UK, sometimes with his children, and it seems he was a regular transatlantic traveller no doubt related his his occupation. The 'immigration' title is therefore misleading. Unfortunately I don't have access to the details of these trips including dates.
Georgiana appears in a number of US censuses but again I don't have detailed access.
