Arrived in NZ with her family on the 'Gala' on 13 February 1860 (aged 16) at Dunedin from Glasgow.

In October 1861 she married John Fitzwilliam ROBERTSON at her father's home in Waihola, Otago. This is 10 km south of Christie's Gully.

They celebrated their Golden Wedding in 1911 at Waipahi. During their long stay in Waipahi, Agnes Robertson had, by her loyal, quiet and helpful ways, earned the esteem of all who knew her. At the celebration she was presented with a purse of sovereigns for her, and a carved walking stick for him.

She died on 2 July 1929 aged 85, and buried at Otokia Cemetery,Silverpeaks County, Otago.

Emigrated to Melbourne in 1853 (aged 13), and came to NZ in 1860.
Initially he was employed pit sawing in bush around Dunedin, Port Chalmers. He went to both the Lindis and Gabriel's Gully gold rushes, and would have been passing Waihola on his way to the Gully around 1861 -the year they married.

Married Agnes CHRISTIE on 29 October 1861 in the home of her father, William, at Waihola, Otago, NZ.

They purchased 50 acres at Otokia, 30 km south of Dunedin, engaged in contracting under the old Provncial Government and combined both with store keeping. About 1890 they took up residence in Waipahi where he was contracting again. The family then moved to Balclutha and Stirling.

John died in 1914 aged 74 at Fairview, Otokia. Buried Otokia Cemetery Block 1, Plot 44. Service taken by Presbyterian Minister. Otokia Cemetery, Silverpeaks County, is 30 km south of Dunedin & south of Kaikorai.
