In 1881 Lucy [Staples Monck Smith] was staying with John Cole and his sister Hannah - he was a corn factor - as was Lucy's grandfather, Joseph Smith.

John married Rebecca SMITH [3598], daughter of John SMITH [3550] and Martha FRANK [3551], on May 9, 1825 in by Licence at March, Cambridgeshire. Rebecca was born on Nov 13, 1800 in Tydd St Giles Cambridgeshire England and died 2 Qtr 1846 in North Witchford Cambridgeshire England.

   6    iv. Martha COLE [3602] was born in 1833 in Sheriton Nottingham England.

John next married Sarah STANGER [3867], daughter of William STANGER [3823] and Mary DENT [3824], on Feb 24, 1848 in Wisbech Cambridgeshire England. Sarah was born on Sep 20, 1809 in Tydd St Mary Lincolnshire England, died on Nov 23, 1876 in Nottingham Nottinghamshire England at age 67, and was buried in Nov 1876 in Baptist Chapel Fleet Hargate Lincolnshire England.
