A sister of Sir Richard, named Matilda or Maude, was the wife of William I, the Conqueror, King of England. From Sir Richard Forester sprung the Blake Foresters of Ashfield and Knockmoy Abbey, County of Galway, and Inchorey Castle, County of Clare; also, the Foresters of Etherston and Bamborough Castle on Northumberland, who are so vividly described in the historical novel, "Dorothy Forster", by Sir Walter Besant, the celebrated English novelist.

His will was proved Jun 9, 1681. Children were all born in England between 1618 and 1636. Each child had families from nine to 14 children, many of whom settled in Ipswich, Boxford, Andover and other nearby towns in Mass. Many have attained national distinction (US Senator Lafayette Sabine Foster of Conn and Senator Addison G. Foster of Washington.)

Although it is thought that Reginald settled in Ipswich around 1638, his name doesn't appear in town records until 1652, when he and Thomas Clark constructed a canal adjoining the Chebacco River. At his death, Reginald's estate was valued at 744 Pounds, 16 Shilling. Reginald owned Plum and Hog Islands, which remained in the family for several generations.

William's body was buried in chancel of St John the Baptist Church at Stanground. There is a memorial to William in the chancel.

The appellant produced, and relied on, the depositions thus taken, as evidence for him on the present trial he read from the said depositions the following passages, viz. the deposition of Robert Coveney, to the 11th interrogatory, folio 34, who said, "That about fourteen years before the time of his examination, to the best of his remembrance, there was a trial at common law, between Charles earl of Westmorland, plaintiff, and one Moreley and others, tenants of the King's Lands," defendants at which trial the said earl obtained a verdict for the tithes of the said lands, the deponent being present thereat, and that the said earl was, at the time of the said trial, lord and owner of the said manor of Stanground; and says he has heard and believes, that there was a private composition made between the late lord Berkley (or his agents) then lessee of the said lands, and William Forbes, then vicar of Stanground aforesaid, concerning the payment of these tithes." p 333
