We have great regret in mentioning the sudden death of Mrs. Bell, wife of George Bell, of Bellview, near this town. Mrs. Bell had been at Bundoran for some time past with her family enjoying the benefit of sea bathing, and sat down to tea there on Saturday evening in perfect health, when she suddenly fell from her chair and expired. This unexpected calamity has plunged her afflicted family in deepest distress, and excited the sympathy of a respectable circle of friends and acquaintances. Her remains were met on Monday last by a large portion of the inhabitants of this town, and conveyed for interment to the family burying place at Rossorry.

Friday 10. About two o'clock in the afternoon, the Countess of Strathmore was taken from the house of Mr. Forster in Oxford-street, under the pretence of a warrant to take her before Lord Mansfield; but in fact to carry her off by a company of ruffians. She was forcibly thrust into her own carriage, her own coachman taken from the box, and a stranger put in his place, who drove off at a most furious rate, and did not stop till he arrived at Barnet, where the carriage was met by a company of armed men, to the number of eight: that in passing through one of the turnpikes, the lady was seen to struggle much, apparently gagged, and in great distress: but farther intelligence could then be ascertained. It appears since that she has gained her liberty; but, as her story is an interesting event in a free country, we shall forebear enlarging upon it till we can tell it on better grounds than common report. An Habeas Corpus was however immediately obtained; and as soon as confident with the forms of law, an attachment against Andrew Robinson Bowes, the husband of the lady, which it will probably prove a dangerous attempt to execute.
