16. Countess Margaret de QUINCY of Derby [81900] (Roger of Winchester (Earl [2nd])⁴, Sahir III of Winchester (Earl [1st])³, Robert Justiciar of Lothian (Sir)², Saer I¹) was born in 1218 and died on 12 Mar 1280 at age 62.

General Notes: In a Document received from Marigold [Roberts] Potter in April 2021, she names her as Eleanor.

Margaret married Earl [5th] William de FERRERS of Derby [81899], son of William de FERRERS II [81909] and Alice Agnes de MESCHINES [81910]. William was born in 1200 and died in 1254 at age 54.

General Notes: Wikipedia says of William,
In 1230 he accompanied King Henry III to France and attended Parliament in London in the same year. Like his father, he suffered from gout from youth and after the 1230s took little part in public affairs, travelling always in a litter. He was accidentally thrown from his litter into the River Great Ouse while crossing a bridge at St Neots in Huntingdonshire and, although he escaped death, never recovered from the effects of the accident. He succeeded to the title of his father in 1247, but only lived another seven years, dying on 28 March 1254.

Robert married Alica de SANFORD [81978], daughter of Gilbert de SANFORD [81983]. Alica was born in 1231 and died in 1317 at age 86.
