General Notes: In a Document received attached to an e-Mail from Alan Turner in April 2014, he commences his Story of the Bell Family with the following:
The Bell family represents the most complete and traceable branch of the family tree with records going back 1000 years. We are fortunate in having had as a member of this family a competent genealogist. I refer to Henry Nugent Bell born in 1797, the younger brother of Major General Sir George Bell.
Henry Nugent Bell researched a family tree that was certified by Francis Townsend Esq., Windsor Herald of the College of Arms in London in 1818. Henry wrote the "Huntingdon Peerage" (Baldwin Craddock and Joy, London 1820) and was responsible for having Robin Hood's hereditary title, Earl of Huntingdon, recognised. Henry was at the time a law student at the Inner Court.

General Notes: In a Document received from Patrick de Meulemeester in March 2021, he stated as follows:
They settled in Brussels in 1833 and after travelling across Europe they settled in Bruges in 1836 and then returned to Brussels in 1837.
Patrick also included the following, that was translated by Microsoft Word from an original French Document:
After completing his law studies, he enrolled in medicine and became Bachelor of Medicine (University of Cambridge) in 1819.See John Burke's text below.
A naturalist, he was also passionate about astronomy, mechanics and aerostatics.
He was a member of the famous Linnean Society and the Royal Astronomical Society.
In 1811 he discovered a comet and also participated in the project of a perpetual calendar (1824)
In 1820 he published the letters exchanged with the philosopher John Locke, author of the famous 'Letters on Tolerance' and he was in possession of the original of John Locke's famous manuscript 'Essay concerning human understanding'.
These documents belonged to Benjamin Furly, his great-great-uncle and friend of John Locke.
He appeared 'Researches about Atmospheric Phenomena in 1812, 'Liber rerum naturalium' in 1805, Perpetual Calendar in 1824, Collection of my life in 1835, Observations on the influence of the Comets in 1836, Sati in 1843, Epistolarium Forsnumteria and Annals of a Physicist Traveller in 1848.
He is also the author of the collection ' Philosophia Musarum ' which contains notes and poems. See what John Burke, the well-known historian wrote about Thomas Ignatius Forster. 'This gentleman who was educated at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, where he graduated as Bachelor of Medecine, is an able and learned writer and has published twenty-four works on science and literature.
He and his brother Edward, have returned to the Catholic church, to which their ancestors had belonged until the rebellion of 1715.
FURTHER to the above, Patrick also included in his Family History, the following, attributed to Sir Thomas:
Thomas Ignatius Forster wrote about his mother:
My mother, born Suzanne WILLIAMS, is from a former Welsh family. His mother was the sister of botanist M.T.H. Hackney Sikes in Middlesex.
[The Quote continues, speaking about Sir Thomas]
He is a great botanist and plant designer and much of his collection ended up in Oorbeek.
He was a first member of the LINNEAN Society as well as many other scientific and philanthropic societies.
Together with his brother Benjamin Meggot Forster, he joined the Anti-Slavery Society in 1823. He had as friends renowned botanists such as Sir James Edward Smith, Sir Joseph Banks, Jonas Dryander, James Dickson, Robert Brown and Adam Afzelius.
He was also the author of 'The Pocket Encyclopedia of Natural Phenomena' published by Thomas Forster, his son.
Wikipedia says of Sir Thomas,
Thomas Ignatius Maria Forster FRS FLS (9 November 1789 \endash 2 February 1860) was an English astronomer, physician, naturalist and philosopher. An early animal rights activist, he promoted vegetarianism and founded the Animals' Friend Society with Lewis Gompertz. He published pamphlets on a wide variety of subjects, including morality, Pythagorean philosophy, bird migration, Sati, and "phrenology", a term that he coined in 1815; and,
Forster was born in London, the eldest son of Thomas Furly Forster of Walthamstow who was a botanist, and follower of Jean-Jacques Rousseau.[1] He did not have the conventional classical literary education, but learned some science from his uncle Benjamin Meggot Forster.[2] The Great Comet of 1811 aroused his interest in astronomy, a science which he continued to pursue, and eight years later, on 3 July 1819, he himself discovered a new comet. He declined a fellowship to the Royal Society in 1816 as he disliked some of the rules. He matriculated at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, in order to study law, but soon abandoned it to study medicine, taking his degree in 1819.[3] Two years before, he had married Julia, daughter of Colonel Mark Beaufoy, and taken up residence at Spa Lodge, Tunbridge Wells. After the birth of his only daughter he moved to Hartwell in Sussex, and then spent three years abroad. During the 1820s, he converted to Roman Catholicism.[1][4]
After his return to England he became a fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and helped to found a meteorological society along with Sir Richard Phillips, which had only a brief existence.[1]
After his father's death in 1825, he took up his residence in Chelmsford in order to be near his daughter, then a pupil at Newhall Convent. Here he undertook a series of researches on the influence of atmospheric conditions on diseases, and particularly on cholera which also involved a balloon ascent in April 1831. In 1833 he again went abroad, where he spent most of his remaining years, settling finally in Bruges. He continued writing during the latter part of his life, including poetry. He also composed selections for the violin. He numbered among his friends authors and scholars of his time, such as Thomas Gray, Richard Porson, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Thomas Love Peacock, William Herschel, and William Whewell.[1] He became a vegetarian, following a Pythagorean diet, and along with Lewis Gompertz, founded the Animals' Friend Society in 1833.[5]
Forster lived in Bruges from 1842 until 1852. He then moved to Brussels, where he died.

Another name for Henry was Abdallah [Pasha] EL INGLIZI.
General Notes: In an e-Mail, dated January 19, 2013, Patrick Grigsby included the following:
Earlier in his army life, Henry Selby Rickards had come to Egypt where he settled in early 1840's, converting to Islam, he went on the Hajj so that he could marry "Hanim" Fatoom. On his conversion, he changed his name to Abdallah (servant of Allah) and was later elevated by the then khedive, Abbas Pasha, and came to be known as Abdallah Pasha il Ingilizi. His Egyptian wife was the daughter of a [religious] Sheik, possibly attached to Cairo's famous Al-Azhar mosque/university. The Family were believed to be direct descendants of the prophet Mohammad; but this is in some doubt. They had seven children, the eldest Amin was known to my mother as 'uncle Amin'. I have the Works of William Shakespear, a tome that is insribed, "To dear Doshia from her uncle - Amin Abdallah - 17/9/18". During the first World War, my grand mother Mariam with my mother and her two sisters were evacuated from Turkey to Egypt whilst my grandfather was with the British/Anzac forces at Gallipoli my Uncle William on the Somme in France. In spite of Turkey being on the German side, when the Rickards family returned to Mersin the Turkish authorities handed back, intact with contents, the many properties that my grand father owned in Mersin.
AND, in an e-Mail from Noha Sadek, received on February the 12th, 2013, she substantiated much of what Patrick has said; but added:
Henry Rickards held several positions in the Egyptian administration, including that of the first director of the Egyptian railways in 1853, but he was dismissed the following year when Khedive Said came to power. HSR left Egypt in 1869 for England until a final move to Lebanon in 1876.
In an e-Mail from James Wilkinson in May 2013, he included the following Quote from Nick Rickards:
As a teenager, Henry went to Portugal to join a "private army" of the Queen of Portugal \endash probably all mercenaries - and he stayed there until he was in his early 20's At some point, he arrived in Egypt as a translator for the British Colonial service and made a career in Cairo and Alexandria. For a year, he was the Director General of the Egyptian state railways, working with George Stephenson to build the Cairo to Alexandria railroad. His portrait is hung in the municipal museum in Cairo. After that year, he was replaced by an Egyptian but became a "General in the Egyptian Service" and was called Abdallah Pasha El Ingles.

General Notes: FORSTER, Sir HENRY WILLIAM, 1st Baron (1866-1936), governor-general of Australia, was born on 31 January 1866 at Southend Hall, Kent, England, son of Major John Forster, late 6th Dragoon Guards, and his wife Emily Jane, née Case. Educated at Eton and New College, Oxford (B.A., 1889), he excelled at tennis and fencing, played cricket for Eton, Oxford and Kent, captained Hampshire, and represented the Gentleman against Players. Over six feet (183 cm) tall, he was of the spare, typical sportsman's build. On 3 June 1890 he married Rachel Cecily, daughter of the first Lord Montagu of Beaulieu. A Unionist, in 1892-1918 Forster represented Sevenoaks and in 1918-19 Bromley in the House of Commons. He was a junior lord of the Treasury in 1902-05, Conservative whip 1902-11 and financial secretary to the War Office 1915-19. Appointed privy councillor in 1917, next year he became president of the Marylebone Cricket Club and in 1919 he was created Baron Forster of Lepe.
In June 1920, of three men suggested to the Australian government as suitable governors-general, W. M. Hughe's cabinet chose Forster, who was appointed G.C.M.G. Succeeding Sir Ronald Munro Ferguson he was sworn in at Melbourne on 7 October. Earnestly attentive to the social duties of the office, Lord and Lady Forster travelled tirelessly around Australia, often dedicating war memorials; their two sons had been killed in the war. In 1924 Forster visited Papua and New Guinea. A founder of Toc H in Australia, he was also chief scout; his charitable interests included the Big Brother Movement. Lady Forster was keenly interested in music, art, social questions, and women's movements. Among the numerous sports the vice-regal family patronized was yachting-the governor-general won several races and in 1920 presented the Forster cup for inter-State competition in 21-foot class yachts.
No political crises disturbed his tour of duty. Hughes's overthrow caused His Excellency no problems as on resigning the prime minister advised that S. M. (Viscount) Bruce be commissioned. Although he had intended to stay only two years, and despite his dissatisfaction at being forced to draw more than £2000 annually from his private income, Forster was prevailed on to remain until 1925. He left Australia on 7 October.
Diffident, though popular, Forster had less influence than either his predecessor or his successor, Lord Stonehaven. He reflected the less active role British governors-general were to play in Australia after World War I. In May 1925 he wrote, 'the work of a G.G. and his wife is just like the work of looking after a big constituency'. Forster was survived by his wife and two daughters when he died of coronary-vascular disease in London on 15 January 1936. His portrait by John Longstaff hangs in Parliament House, Canberra.
AND, In a Document received from Marigold [Roberts] Potter in February 2015, she included the following Obituary:-
Times Obituary Notice 16/1/1936:
'Cricketer, politician, overseas Governor, he accomplished well and efficiently all that he undertook. Quiet and urbane, of ready accessibility and simple tastes, of tall athletic frame and winning manners, he was liked by all.... He and Lady Forster together made a Viceregal pair of striking dignity.... He loved the Australian countryside.... and was quickly at home with the Australians as people. Something in their uncompromising directness appealed strongly to him, who loathed all the snobbery and pretence and suffered fools, not gladly, but with resignation.'
Noted events in his life were:
• Occupation: Member of Parliament, 1892-1918, Bermondsey Surrey England.
• Occupation: Member of Parliament, 1918-1919, Bromley Kent England.

Wikipedia says:
HMS Natal was a Warrior-class armoured cruiser built for the Royal Navy in the first decade of the 20th century. She escorted the royal yacht in 1911-1912 for the newly crowned King George V's trip to India to attend the Delhi Durbar. During World War I the ship was assigned to the 2nd Cruiser Squadron of the Grand Fleet, but did not participate in any battles. Natal was sunk by an internal explosion near Cromarty on 30 December 1915 with the loss of at least 390 crewmen and civilians. Most of her wreck was slowly salvaged over the decades until the remnants were demolished in the 1970s so they were no longer a hazard to navigation. The remains of her wreck are designated as a protected place under the Protection of Military Remains Act 1986 as a war grave.
