Sir Robert Fitz-Richard DE LATHOM 6th Earl, Lathom [82070] (Richard Fitz-Robert 5th Earl, Lathom (Sir)⁸, Robert Henry Fitz-Henry 4th Earl, Lathom⁶, Henry Fitz-Siward 3rd Earl, Lathom⁵, Siward Fitz-Dunning 2nd Earl, Lathom², Dunning 1st [Norman] Earl, Lathom (Sir)¹) was born on 23 Dec 1198 in Lathom Lancashire England and died about 1290 in Lathom Lancashire England aged about 92.

General Notes: In a File of Information on the de Lathom Family, received from Charles S Lewis in January 2011, he included the following:
High Sheriff of Lancaster, 1236, 1248, 1249 and again in 1263. He was Custos of the Castle and County of Lancaster during pleasure 1250, and of the honour of Lathom 1254.
He was summoned for military service against Llewelyn in 1277, and fought against the Welsh in 1282.
By his marriage with Amicia, sister and coheir to Thomas son of Robert de Alfreton he became possessed of a moiety of her father's estates in Alfreton, Norton and Marnham held of the honour of Tickhill.
Robert was made a knight in 1243 in consequence of the king's writ to enforce knighthood on all who had an estate of fifteen librates of land.
His second wife was Joan, daughter of Adam de Millom, by whom he had several children.
From 1277 until his death about 1290, he was engaged in the wars.

Robert married Amicia DE ALFRETON [92936] [MRIN: 30991] on 15 Dec 1220 in Chapelry of Lathom Lancashire England. Amicia was born on 26 May 1200 in Newcastle upon Tyne Northumberland England and died on 11 Nov 1250 in Westminster Middlesex England at age 50.
