John died 1 Dec 1834, Southend [Southend Hall, Lewisham] and was son of Rev John FORSTER Rector of Elton, Durham and Walsoken, and he married Elizabeth d 25 Jan 1837 daughter of Rev Ralph DRAKE-BROCKMAN of Beachborough in Kent. John's grandson Major John FORSTER of Exbury House, Hampshire was father of Henry William, Lord FORSTER of Lepe, created 12 Dec 1919, MP for Bermondsey, 1892 \endash 1918 and for Bromley 1918-19, and Governor General of Australia 1920-25 who donated Forster Memorial Park in Downham to Lewisham Council in 1922. He married Rachel, daughter of 1st Lord MONTAGU of Beaulieu, Hampshire and one daughter was the mother of Michael PITT-RIVERS and the other married the uncle of Eric LUBBOCK, Lord AVEBURY.

General Notes: Wikipedia says of Edward,
Edward Forster the elder (1730\endash 1812) was an English banker and antiquary.
He was the son of Thomas Forster, and brother of Benjamin Forster, born on 11 February 1730. He was educated at Felsted School. He then visited the Netherlands and Benjamin Furly, his maternal grandfather.
In 1764 Forster settled at Walthamstow. He was a member of the Mercers' Company, a director of the London Docks, governor of the Royal Exchange, and, for nearly thirty years, of the Russia Company, in which capacity he gave an annual ministerial dinner. When consulted by Pitt as to a forced paper currency he was offered a baronetcy. He is stated to have been the introducer of bearded wheat from Smyrna.
He died at Hoe Street, Walthamstow, 20 April 1812. Joseph Addison, Jonathan Swift, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau were his favourite authors, and Thomas Gray, Richard Gough and Michael Tyson were among his personal friends. One of his letters (Epistolarium Forsterianum, i. 205\endash 26) contains a reference to Gray's Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard in 1751.
His portrait was painted by Martin Archer Shee for the Mercers' Company in 1812, and by John Hoppner for the Royal Exchange; the latter was engraved by Charles Turner.

After his father, Edward Forster Jr. became a member of Lubbocks Bank, Forster and Clarke, founded in 1772 by Sir William Lemon, Buller, Jurley and John Lubbock and Co., which became Furley, Bosanquet and Lubbock Bank and became Lubbock Bank, Forster and Clarke when Edward Forster was appointed senior.
On the death of Edward Forster Jr., the bank changed its name to Robarts Bank, Lubbock and Co.
