Valentine Gordon GOODING [11023] (William Jacob⁴, Jacob Henry³, Jacob Henry², Unknown¹) was born 18 Jul 1902 in Morrison's Bush Greytown Wairarapa New Zealand, died 08 Oct 1972 in Greymouth Westland New Zealand at age 70, and was buried in 1972 in Featherston Cemetery Wairarapa New Zealand. Another name for Valentine was Val.

General Notes:Farmer in Featherston area.

Our family visited them when we were children - a farm was a novelty.
We called him Uncle Val, and his wife, Aunt Ben. (We thought it was funny how the names seemed reversed for male and female!)

Sold the farm to their eldest son, William.

Will filed 18 Oct. 1972 in Hamilton Ct - Retired Farmer of Taupo.

Valentine Gordon GOODING, husband of Benham, died 8 Oct. 1972 aged 70.

Valentine married Benham Nina Bockett BOCKETT [11702] [MRIN: 4952], daughter of Benjamin Bradney BOCKETT [42886] and Emily Nina MARRIOTT [42887], 06 Sep 1940 in St.John's Church Featherston Wairarapa New Zealand. Benham was born 09 Nov 1918 in Palmerston North Manawatu New Zealand. Another name for Benham is Ben.

General Notes:'Ben' was the daughter of Ed BOCKETT's widower brother - Bob? born in1918.

Married Val GOODING in 1940, and they had 3 children - William, Beth &Ted.
As children we visited their Featherston farm for holidays.

In an eMail, dated September 20, 2006, Suzanne Grant said:

Benham Nina Bocket is the daughter of Emily Nina Marriott, Emily died when Benham was only 1 week old and Benjamin Bradney Bocket gave his brother Edward and his wife Benham to raise.

Norman married Ngaire PULL [11040] [MRIN: 4954] about 1945. Ngaire was born about 1914.
