Arrives New South Wales per "Robert Small" in 1856 as assisted immigrants. Index shows Samuel 24 years, Arabella 20 years, and Martha Ann 1 year who died during the voyage. The "Robert Small", a vessel of 794 tons, departed Southampton on 30 January 1856, arriving New South Wales on 23 May. She carried 313 passengers, four of whom died en route. The couple is also shows as arriving at Port Phillip, Victoria, as unassisted immigrants from British Ports per "Suevic" in 1905. A SAD CASE. -- Sophia Matilda Watts, a young married woman, was charged with threatening violence to Mrs. Sarah Stanger on the 26th Dec. -- The complainant, the mother of the defendant, stated that on the day named her daughter called her disgusting names, and took up a poker and threatened to strike her with it. Her daughter suffered from constant fits of temper or insanity--she did not know which--and she was afraid she might do her some bodily harm. For several months the defendant had been living with her, as she was parted from her husband, but lately she had had her removed. -- The defendant promising not to go near her mother's house or annoy her in future, the case was dismissed.
