3. Rev, Richard JEFFREYS [35302] (Edward (Rev.)², John¹) was born in 1762 and died on 4 Oct 1830 in Throcking Hertfordshire England at age 68.

General Notes: Information provided by Alison Elkin in December 2006 says:
He was appointed Rector of Throcking, Nr Buntingford, Hertfordshire, England in 1786 and held the living until his death. From 1803 to 1811 he was absent from his living (where he presumably employed a curate-in-charge) while acting as Chaplin to the Honourable East India Company in the Residency of Calcutta, India. ( He arrived in Bengal, India on 16th May 1803). He was also a minor Canon of Ely and was on the foundation of Winchester, Hampshire, England as a descendant of William of Wykeham.

Richard married Sarah GILDER [35303], daughter of Rev, Jonathan GILDER [35304] and Mary BRAZIER [35305], on 18 Aug 1785 in England. Sarah was born in 1762, was baptised on 9 Jan 1768 in Layston Park Royston Hertfordshire England, died in Jul 1809 in Futty Ghur Uttar Pradesh India at age 47, and was buried on 5 Jul 1809 in Futty Ghur Uttar Pradesh India.

   6 M    iii. Col., Edward JEFFREYS [35308] was born in 1789, was baptised in Jun 1789 in Layston Park Royston Hertfordshire England, and died in 1861 at age 72.

General Notes: Edward joined the Indian Army; and rose to the Rank of Colonel.

Edward married HOLGATE [35321].

   7 M    iv. Rev, Richard JEFFREYS [35309] was born on 14 Mar 1791 and died on 30 May 1866 in Cockfield Suffolk England at age 75.

General Notes: Richard was Rector of Cockfield in Suffolk. He never married; and his widowed Sister, Juliana Anne Latter became his Housekeeper.

   11 F    viii. Charlotte Fancourt JEFFREYS [35313] was born in 1797, was baptised on 5 Sep 1797 in Bexley Kent England, and died Abt. 1832 aged about 35.

+ 14 M    xi. Rev, Charles JEFFREYS [35315] was born on 10 Nov 1801 in Great Parndon Essex England, was baptised on 30 May 1802 in Putney London England, and died on 25 Nov 1862 in Dunedin Otago New Zealand at age 61.
