7. George MATHESON [16066] (Donald³, Hugh¹) was born in Dec 1775 in Craigkilisie Dornoch Sutherland Scotland and died 16 Aug 1809 at age 33. The cause of his death was Drowned in the Meikle Ferry disaster.

George married Catherine GRAY [16071] [MRIN: 6582] 24 Dec 1800.

11. Ann MATHESON [12808] (Donald³, Hugh¹) was born in Sep 1786 in Craigkilisie Dornoch Sutherland Scotland, was christened 20 Oct 1786, died 24 Oct 1875 in Asdale Farm Rogart Sutherland Scotland at age 89, and was buried in St.Callan's Church Rogart Sutherland Scotland.

Ann married John MURRAY [12807] [MRIN: 5523], son of John MURRAY [12809] and Ann SUTHERLAND [12810], 27 Mar 1804 in Dornoch Sutherland Scotland. John was born 15 Feb 1777 in Inchure Rogart Scotland, died 21 Apr 1866 in Asdale Farm Rogart Sutherland Scotland at age 89, and was buried in St.Callan's Church Rogart Sutherland Scotland.

General Notes:John was born in Blairich, Rogart, Sutherland, Scotland, and was a crofter of Asdale Farm near
Bonar Bridge. He attended school at Dalnabreck, nr Balrich.

He married Ann MATHESON on 27 March 1804 at Dornoch.
Ann was born at Rearcher, the daughter of Donald MATHESON & Helen MacDONALD.

Rogart is in the north of Scotland - inland from Golspie and just north of Pittentrail. Very desolate part of Scotland.

Evicted from Acheilidh, Rogart, then from Rhroine, so went to Glasgow from 1818-1820. Back to Asdale where they remained till their death.

The 1841 census shows the family at Asdale (John a farmer). Living with the family was an Ann Murray aged 4 yrs. The 1851 census tells that the croft had 8 acres. John, then 73 yrs, was looking after a granddaughter, Anne Ross aged 12, and a grandson William Murray aged 9. John & Ann were alone in 1861.

John & Ann are buried in St Callan's Churchyard, Rogart.

+ 23 F    vii. Margaret Mcintosh MURRAY [12837] was born 24 Sep 1818 in Glasgow Lanarkxhire Scotland, was christened 27 Sep 1818 in Barony Lanarkxhire Scotland, died in 1907 in Glasgow Lanarkxhire Scotland at age 89, and was buried in Glasgow Lanarkxhire Scotland.
