3. George MEDLEY [15972] (Henry¹) was born in 1738 in London England, was baptised on 18 Jun 1740 in St Luke's Chelsea Middlesex England, and died on 6 Jul 1806 in Kent England at age 68.

General Notes: In a Medley Pedigree, received from Marcus Whittaker in September 2011, he included the following:
George Medley was a tenor in the choirs of The Chapels Royal and 'St. Peter's' (i.e. Westminster Abbey). He was a Lutenist to the Chapels Royal 1764-74, Gentleman Extraordinary of the Chapels Royal 1765-74 and Gentleman 1774 until his death in 1805. He was a Lay Vicar of Westminster Abbey 1765 - 96 but in 1796: 'has been incapable of singing for many years, through Asthma, and has been allowed to have a deputy both at the King's Chapel and the Abbey'. It seems that he had money, perhaps family money, and supported several charities.
On 13/7/1805, Jackson's Oxford Journal reported under deaths: George Medley Esq. of Grosvenor-place, in Guy's Hospital in consequence of a fall from his horse, in a fit, on the Greenwich Road, a few days before.

• Occupation: a Librarian.

• Residence: Grosvenor Place, Westminster Middlesex England.

• Death: in Guys Hospital, 6 Jul 1806.

George next married Henrietta LOCKHART [15973] [MRIN: 6557], daughter of Charles LOCKHART [95412] and Henrietta TRUMAN [95413], in 1798 in London England. Henrietta was born in 1775 in Lambeth Surrey England, was baptised on 12 Sep 1775 in Lambeth Surrey England, died on 14 Sep 1844 in Exeter Devon England at age 69, and was buried on 19 Sep 1844 in St Thomas' Churchyard Exeter Devon England.

General Notes: In a Medley Pedigree, received from Marcus Whittaker in September 2011, he included the following:
1843: Upon the death of her Granddaughter, Emma Simcoe Medley (1828-1843), Henrietta broke up her own household and moved to Exeter, Devon, to look after the motherless children and her son's household.
1844: Henrietta Medley was killed in an open carriage accident, in Exeter, in which her son John was very badly injured.

5. Richard MEDLEY [95387] (Henry¹) was born in 1740 in London England, was baptised on 31 Mar 1742 in St Luke's Chelsea Middlesex England, and died on 31 Aug 1823 in Clapham Surrey England at age 83.

General Notes: In a Medley Pedigree, received from Marcus Whittaker in September 2011, he included the following:Richard was certainly the brother of George Medley Esq., above, as he is the only sibling who appears in the latter's will dated 05 Jun 1800.
