General Notes: In an e-Mail received from Chris Granger in August 2014, he included the following:
My father was known as Francis. You will find several references to him on the internet in connection with meteorology, cloud formation and together with his brother, John, his aeroplane the Archaeopteryx of which he was the designer.
In the war he became a test pilot at Farnborough where he crashed testing Mosquitos at high altitude saving his life by flying
into a wood. He badly injured his leg and has to wear a special boot.
He died of cancer of the throat which formed at a place where he had received an injury in the crash.

Richard married Gladys Emma BEAUMONT [101844], daughter of Rupert Kendall BEAUMONT [102016] and Gladys Mary WARWICK [102017], on 29 May 1931.

Christopher married Mary Eileen KEY [8847], daughter of Arthur John KEY [102022] and Ellen WOOD [102023], on 21 Nov 1964 in Gosforth Northumberland England. Mary was born on 11 Jan 1934.

65. Richard John Turney GRANGER [8843] (Richard GRANGER⁵⁸, Hannah PEDLEY⁵¹, Richard⁴⁵, Thomas²⁷, John⁷, Richard², Philip¹) was born on 25 May 1906 and died in 1991 at age 85.

Richard married Beatrice MATTHEWS [101845] on 11 Sep 1936. Beatrice died in 1948-1949.
