James Oates Lee, 12, and William Stanger, alias Brightman, 9, both of Spalding, were charged with stealing one glass jar and lid, and ¾ lb of biscuits, value 2s 4½ d , belonging to Louisa Hutson, widow, of 21 Crescent, Spalding, on the 24th inst. Lee was sentenced to 14 days imprisonment, six strokes with birch rod, and three years in a Reformatory; Stanger to four strokes with birch rod and seven days in Union Workhouse.
