16. Giles TAYSPILL [27280] (Jooris⁸, Gilles⁶, Jean⁴, Jean³, Daniel¹) was born in 1636 in Colchester Essex England, was christened about 1636, died on 23 Mar 1706 in Colchester Essex England at age 70, and was buried in Quaker Burial Ground Moor Lane Colchester Essex England.

General Notes: In an eMail, dated October the 1st, 2007, Peter Robson said:-
Tayspill coat of arms - D'ARG. AU. CHEV De GU. CH. DE TROIS BES DU CHAMP ET ACE DE TROIS HURES DE SANGLIER DE SA.- Crest a swan. - Giles Tayspill born c 1636 Son of Jooris had a merchant mark with a crest of a swan in 1668 as did James Tayspill born 1634 but his were marked with marks of difference.
and in another, dated October the 25th, he included:
There have been a dozen or so Quaker burial grounds since 1658. Moor Lane b.g. 1658-1734 364 burials. Chapel b.g.1682-1754 605 burials St.Helens b.g.(adjoins Chapel b.g.) 1778-1853 211 burials. Many of the others do not have T's in them.
Moor Elms Lane b.g. shortened to Moor Lane b.g. and now known as land abutting Priory Street .Originally so called because it ran alongside the moors which formed part of the garden and grounds which belonged to St. Botolphs Priory.
Allied details are. (Old) New Yard b.g.-Graveyard from 1671 near St.Helens chapel extended 1683 . 1685 Chapel b.g. Extention of (Old)New b.g. Some burials already there then ! 1705 Refered to as Chapel yard b.g.

• Occupation: Bay & Say Maker [Specialist Weaver], St Botolph's Parish Colchester Essex England.

• Religion: joined the Religious Society of Friends [Quakers], 1667.

Giles married Edith PALMER [27281] [MRIN: 10372] on 23 Mar 1706 in St Osyth Essex England. Edith died after 1707. Another name for Edith was Elizabeth PALMER.

+ 23 M    vii. Giles TAYSPILL [27282] was born about 1680 and was buried in Saint Nicholas Colchester Essex England.

+ 24 M    viii. Daniel TAYSPILL [27284] was born in 1684.

   25 F    ix. Mary TAYSPILL [49774] was born in 1686, died in 1688 at age 2, and was buried on 17 Sep 1688 in Friends Burial Ground Moor End Colchester Essex England.
