During the war, Mabel was an active supporter of Sir Oswald Moseley and sometimes marched in the streets with the 'Black Shirts'.
There is reference to a family dispute in the her mother-in-law's [Priscilla Rebecca Bennett] Will; I've often wondered if the dispute concerned Ireland and the 'Irish Problem', as I suspect her in-laws supported British Rule (Mabel's first husband was in the 'Black and Tans') whereas Sir Oswald Moseley opposed British Rule in Ireland and openly supported the Irish Freedom Fighters.
