The death has occurred at Arncliffe of Mrs. Janet Vincent, at the age of 81 years. Mrs. Vincent was one of the first Inhabitants of Arncliffe. She went there In 1867 with her husband, Mr. Arthur [Alfred] Richard Vincent, the son of the Rev. John Vincent, who was assistant chaplain to the Rev. Samuel Marsden. Together they went in for flower growing on a commercial scale At the time of her death Mrs. Vincent was one of the largest suppliers to city florists.
Mrs. Vincent, It is claimed, was the first white child born at Jerry's Plains. Her father, Mr. David Wilson, was then overseer on a local station, but later went to Braidwood as contractor, carrying mails and gold from the diggings.
Mrs. Vincent's husband died 44 years ago. She is survived by a son, five daughters, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The death occurred yesterday, at her residence, "Wanganui", Gouldsbury Street, Mosman, of Mrs, Emma Elliott, widow of the late Mr. James Robert Elliott, one of the founders of the firm of Elliott Bros., O'Connell Street, and aunt of Dr. J, Elliott, the present head of the firm.
Mrs. Elliott was a daughter of' the Rev. John Vincent, an early military colonial chaplain, and the first Rector of Sutton Forest. She is survived by one son and four daughters.
The funeral will take place at Gore Hill Cemetery this afternoon.

The will of Mr. Frederick William Elliott, of Tell-en-Nedjer, near El Blar, Algeria, and Cassel, Germany, and formerly of Elliott Brothers, Sydney, who died at Cassel on October 2 last, has been lodged for probate. Messrs. Samuel Cohen, a director of Elliott Brothers, Limited, of O'Connell Street, Sydney, and William Robert Cowper, manager of the Camden branch of the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney, Limited, are appointed executors of the will and trustees of the estate, and testator bequeathed to each of them £50 a year In lieu of commission during the period they continued to act as such. His property in Tell-en-Nedjer he devised to his widow, Ada Medora Elliott, for life, and after her death, to his children in equal shares. He also bequeathed to his widow all plate, pictures, furniture, and other articles of domestic or household use or ornament, and the moneys or profits assured by his life policy for £500. Annuities to be paid out of lncome were bequeathed to:-Mrs. Alicia Hardy, of Macquarie Street, Sydney, £100 for life, and after her death to her two daughters; Mary Vincent, of Wollongong, sister-in-law, £60 for life; Mrs. Louisa Chapman, wife of Captain Frederick Chapman, of London, half-sister, £20 for life; Count Andor Rogendorf, son-in law, in the event of his surviving his wife, £100 during the remainder of his life.
