The 26th Light Dragoons have a brief histor y . Raised in 1794 f r om a draft of the 1st Dragoons for service in the W est Indies whe r e they served until 1797. Then to Gibraltar and to Portugal whe r e they r emained until 1800 when they moved to Egypt. They we r e r enumbe r ed the 23 r d Light Dragoons in 1803

• Military Service: Lieutenant Colonel of the 26th Light Dragoons, Oct 1798.

• Occupation: Manager, 1799-1808, Sun Fire Office [later Sun Alliance Insurance Co.]

Thomas married Elizabeth TULLETT [86922] [MRIN: 27635]. Marriage status: common law. Elizabeth was born circa 1780 and died after 1841.
