12. Elizabeth MORRIS [3969] (William MORRIS11, William MORRIS5, Frances WRIGHT2, John1) was born on 5 Oct 1734 in Kirkby in Ashfield Nottinghamshire England and died on 12 Aug 1797 in Kirkby in Ashfield Nottinghamshire England at age 62.

Elizabeth married Robert BOOTH [3907], son of Robert BOOTH [3937] and Elizabeth BRADLEY [3936]. Robert was born on 26 Mar 1736 in Annesley Woodhouse Nottinghamshire England and died on 14 Aug 1812 in Kirkby Woodhouse Nottinghamshire England at age 76.

Robert Booth born 1736.
Will dated 4.9.1806 and proved 27.3.1812.
He is described as of Kirkby Woodhouse in the parish of Kirkby in the County of Nottingham, stocking manufacturer.
His real estate in Kirkby Woodhouse and elsewhere was to be sold and also all his personal stock and effects whatsoever as live stock, household goods, and furniture, and stocking frames. The monies arising together with what money he was personally possessed of either in the house or lent were to be divided equally amongst his children.
Executors: sons Robert and William Booth and daughters Mary Smith and Ann Eddison.
Witnesses: Thomas Bradley, Thomas Bradley junior and Hannah Bradley who were presumably cousins of his.
Thomas Booth of Eckington and Sarah Booth of Mansfield Woodhouse married 20.11.1740. at Skegby?
William Booth and Elizabeth Wilbourne married at Teversal 16.12.1772.

   19 M    ii. Robert BOOTH [3985] was born on 11 Jul 1764 and died on 12 Dec 1844 in Plumtree Street Nottingham Nottinghamshire England at age 80.

General Notes: In William Booth's Diary [born 1768] he stated that Robert was Churchwarden of St.Mary's Church, Nottingham.

   20 F    iii. Mary BOOTH [3611] was born on 9 Jun 1766 and died on 11 Dec 1812 in St Mary's Gate Nottingham Nottinghamshire England at age 46.

General Notes: Mary was the niece of Abraham Booth the well known Baptist Preacher.

Mary married James SMITH [3610], son of Rev., Francis SMITH [3612] and Elizabeth TOONE [3613], on 12 Oct 1788 in St Peter's Nottingham Nottinghamshire England. James was born on 1 Feb 1764 in Melbourne Derbyshire England, died on 2 May 1847 in Nottingham Nottinghamshire England at age 83, and was buried in General Cemetery Nottingham Nottinghamshire England.

General Notes: James was Lay Preacher and Baptist Elder at the Stoney and Broad Street Churches in Nottingham. He was Treasurer of the Baptist Academy between 1796 and 1833.

Chris Granger, in an eMail, dated June the 25th, 2006, included this Information on William Booth:

James Smith was noted in White's 1832 Directory as trading as a joiner from 45 St Mary's Gate, Nottingham. He was a trustee of William Booth's estate. William was his Brother-in-Law.
James Granger recalled going to Kirkby Woodhouse, riding on the back of his grandfather's nag; and from W B's 1812 diary as riding his ass.
He was a lay preacher and Baptist Elder at the Stony and Broad Street churches in Nottingham and Treasurer of the Baptist Academy between.
It appears from the Nottingham Watch and Ward books of 1812 and 1616 that James and Mary were living in Clinton Street in those years.
Children of James and Mary Smith:
Elizabeth born 23.9.1789 married John Earp of Melbourne at St Mary's, Nottingham on 16.12.1816 and died 24.4.1825. She had two sons, James and William Earp.
Mary born 13.9.1791 married John Granger at St Mary's, Nottingham 26.11.1815 and died 14.12.1873. She had five sons and six daughters.
James born 26.7.1793 married Sarah Hill 28.11.1816 at St Mary's, Nottingham and died in Iowa 10.11.1864 having emigrated there twenty years earlier. He had four sons and six daughters.
Robert Booth died in infancy.
Frances (Fanny) born Nottingham 23.1.1798 married 28.3.1824 George Baldwin at St Mary's, Nottingham and died Loughborough They had ten sons and two daughters.
According to White's 1832 directory George Baldwin was a tailor and habit maker and also a woollen dyer.
Anne born 3.1.1800 died Nottingham 11.7.1834.
Mira born 28.1.1802 married Samuel Smith (no relation) at St Mary's, Nottingham 28.3.1824 died Wisbech 11.11.1855. Had one son died in infancy and two daughters.
Robert Francis died in infancy.
Sarah Smith died in infancy.
Sarah Smith born 22.11.1810 married Henry Bins Hanford at Wisbech 26.10.1847 and did 26.10.1857.

Mary next married someone.

   21 M    iv. William BOOTH [3975] was born on 24 Feb 1768 and died on 3 Mar 1836 in Kirkby Woodhouse Nottinghamshire England at age 68.

William Booth born 1768.
James Granger recalled visiting him in 1834 when he was about seven, sitting on the back of his Grandfather, James Smith's, nag.
He lived all his life in his father's house and was later on in his life engaged in some farming activities but also rented out a stocking frame.
He had an unmarried lady, "Mrs Coulson" (pronounced Coleson) as his house keeper and left her the use of his house for the rest of her life.
He also left her £120 per year for the rest of her life. James Granger had to walk to Kirkby Woodhouse to deliver a half yearly instalment.
According to White's 1832 Nottinghamshire Directory Mr William Booth owned part of Kirkby Woodhouse
Apart from Mrs Coulson, the beneficiaries under his will were all family members.

   22 F    v. Anne BOOTH [3974] was born on 29 Jan 1770 in Kirkby Woodhouse Nottinghamshire England and died on 4 Feb 1845 in Gateford Nottinghamshire England at age 75.

Anne Booth born 29.1.1770 married John Eddison who was born at Worksop on 17.4.1756.
John Eddison died at Gateford near Worksop in 1812 according to William Booth's (1768-1836) diary. Anne was still living at Gateford in 1832 according to White's Directory. James Granger remembered her as a very pretty old lady.
They had the following children
William Eddison.
Henry Eddison, maltster, living at Gateford in 1832 According to James Granger, he was a commissioner for enclosures in Nottingham.
Booth Eddison born 1808 married Elizabeth Ellis. In 1832 he was a surgeon at Nottingham General Hospital on Postern Street died at Funchal, Madeira 1859.
In James Granger's "Old Nottingham Notes" he says that Booth Eddison's residence in about 1850 was the second house from the St May Gate end of High Pavement.
He was a Quaker.
Cousin Abraham Both of Mansfield left him a freehold property at Annesley Woodhouse formerly owned by his uncle William Booth substituting for a legacy to William Booth of Kirkby Woodhouse who had died.

In 1832 there were also Benjamin Eddison senior, gent. and Benjamin Eddison junior, maltster, at Bridge Street Worksop, perhaps brother and nephew of John.
At that date Raymoth, a large farm at Gateford was owned by Mr B Eddison.
The Eddisons were Quakers.

Anne married John EDDISON [3973] on 7 Feb 1799 in Worksop Nottinghamshire England. John was born in 1756 in Worksop Nottinghamshire England and died in 1812 in Gateford Nottinghamshire England at age 56.

   23 F    vi. Frances BOOTH [3908] was born on 26 Oct 1771 in Kirkby Woodhouse Nottinghamshire England and died on 20 Jul 1793 in Kirkby Woodhouse Nottinghamshire England at age 21. The cause of her death was Consumption.

   24 M    vii. Abraham BOOTH [3935] was born on 6 Jul 1773 in Kirkby Woodhouse Nottinghamshire England and died on 5 Feb 1801 in Kirkby Woodhouse Nottinghamshire England at age 27. The cause of his death was Consumption.
