General Notes: From Information provided by Joyce [Pickering] Trousdale in September 2013, it can be concluded that,
Arthur joined the Canadian Artillery Regiment some time during the Course of WW1. Some time before July the 8th, 1918, he was seconded to the Royal Air Force. On July the 8th, 1918 he set off on an Offensive Patrol. Some time later he was seen above Douai chasing a group of German Aircraft. His Aircraft was seen the following Day by his Comrades, having crashed, but it was unknown at that time whether he had survived. It was subsequently learned that he had not, and he is buried at the Cabaret-Rouge British [War] Cemetery at Souchez, Pas-de-Calais, France.
