22. Prideaux John SELBY of Twizell House & Ightham Mote [120609] (George of Belford¹⁶, Prideaux of Brinkburn and Beal¹⁰, William of Beal⁷, William⁶, William of Samshouse & Beal⁵, Oliver⁴, John², Roger of Grindon Ridge¹) was born in 1789 and died in 1867 at age 78.

Prideaux married Lewis Tabitha MITFORD [120610] in 1810.

The child from this marriage was:

   26    i. Lewis Marianne SELBY [120611] .

General Notes: In a Document received from Philip Jacob in April 2021, he commented that,
Marianne sold Ightham Mote to Sir Thomas Ferguson in 1889.

Lewis married Charles BIGGE [120612] in 1833.

Lewis next married Robert LUARD [120613] in 1850.

23. Prideaux SELBY [92149] (Mary SELBY¹⁷, Prideaux of Brinkburn and Beal¹⁰, William of Beal⁷, William⁶, William of Samshouse & Beal⁵, Oliver⁴, John², Roger of Grindon Ridge¹) was born in 1745, was baptised in 1747 in Alnwick Northumberland England, and died in 1813 in Upper Canada at age 68.

General Notes: In an e-Mail received from Ann Fleming in November 2010, she stated:
In the will of Prideaux Selby dated 1807 in Upper Canada - he left everything to his 3 living children, in equal shares, naming Mary Rickards of Colchester England. His wife Elizabeth never came to Upper Canada and died in England.

Noted events in his life were:

• Occupation: an Administrator, Upper Canada.

Prideaux married Elizabeth ALDER [92150] on 1 Jan 1770 in London England. Elizabeth was born in 1751 in England and died in 1827 in England at age 76.

Children from this marriage were:

   27    i. George SELBY [92151] died in 1777.

   28    ii. Elizabeth SELBY [92152] died in 1844.

General Notes: In an e-Mail received from Ann Fleming in November 2010, she states:
In the will of his Prideaux Selby] daughter Elizabeth dated 1841 who married William Derenzy [he died 1833] she left 1000 pounds to the eldest son of her late sister Mary named Prideaux and 1000 pounds to Louisa Rickards her niece who was living with her at Alnwick + other things + her real estate was to be converted to money and the residue of her estate was to be divided among the children of her late sister Mary, alive at the decease of Elizabeth Selby Derenzy.

Elizabeth married William DERENZY [92154]. William died in 1833.

   29    iii. Mary SELBY [92148] .

Mary married John William RICKARDS [47983], son of John RICKARDS [47963] and Mary SELBY [47964]. John was born on 29 Aug 1812.

+ 30    iv. Prideaux SELBY of Maidenhead [92153] was born in 1780 and died in 1829 at age 49.

24. Henry Collingwood SELBY [121243] (Mary SELBY¹⁷, Prideaux of Brinkburn and Beal¹⁰, William of Beal⁷, William⁶, William of Samshouse & Beal⁵, Oliver⁴, John², Roger of Grindon Ridge¹) was born in 1748 and died in 1839 at age 91.

Henry married Frances WILKIE [121244]. Frances was born in 1764 and died in 1790 at age 26.

The child from this marriage was:

   31    i. Frances Wilkie SELBY [121245] was born in 1790 and died in 1811 at age 21.

Frances married Charles THORPE [121246] in 1810.
